The text on this print is the title from the 1969 film directed by Dennis Hopper. I sometimes think about that movie when I think about what a strange social upheaval we are living through now. It’s comforting to remember that these kinds of dramatic shifts happen from time to time and then there are periods of less tumult. I think things are certainly going to get rougher but they will eventually get smoother.
And even while the madness persists, There are beautiful days.
As a side note, I’m also one of those film snobs who believes that the greatest films ever made came from the 1970s and I think that the original “True Grit” and “Easy Rider” both marked the end of the old film era and the beginning of something really beautiful and innovative. I recommend both films whole heartedly.
As a side note to the side note, The newer True Grit is even better.
